  • Apply principles of adult learning theory to their precepting practice by adapting teaching methods to the specific needs and experiences of their preceptee.
  • Demonstrate effective communication techniques, including the use of structured feedback models, to provide constructive and specific performance evaluations to their preceptee.
  • Describe how implicit biases (i.e., generational differences, attitudes or opinions regarding - race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, socioeconomic status or other characteristics) can impact a preceptor-preceptee relationship and develop strategies to bridge gaps and foster a collaborative learning environment.
  • Accurately evaluate and document preceptee performance, competently utilize the Kahuna platform for tracking, and clearly define the steps for escalating immediate patient safety concerns to unit leadership.
