🔫 The original gangster film! Little Caesar (1931) set the template for every crime film that followed, with Edward G. Robinson delivering an unforgettable performance as ruthless mobster Rico Bandello. A gripping rise-and-fall story packed with shootouts, betrayals, and iconic tough-guy dialogue, this is the film that made the gangster genre a Hollywood staple.

🚫 Crime never pays? Pre-Code says otherwise! Unlike later, sanitized gangster films forced to promote moral endings, Little Caesar revels in the rise of its antihero, showcasing a world where crime truly does pay—until it doesn’t.
