Whether we are aware of it or not, we do not and cannot exist in complete isolation. In every moment, we are mutually reliant upon each other and the systems we’re embedded in. These systems create interconnections that are necessary for our survival and by recognizing this interdependence we can embody it as a source of power. When we practice it, we can exist differently and shape the communities, teams, and relationships we are a part of and foster collective well-being. Join VOL in this workshop and learn how to see, embody, and practice the power of interdependence to exist differently.
Through two hours of facilitated engagement and small group work and discussions, participants will define relational power and explore how the interconnected nature of life creates it. We will also look at how we unintentionally use relational power and explore how to create more collaborative spaces by using it intentionally.
Key Takeaways:
- Tools for systems thinking
- The ability to see already existing interdependencies and how/where to create new ones
- The ability to see, name, and intentionally practice relational power
- Vision for more collaborative spaces
