Overview

Join Lynn Potter at Circle Creek Habitat Reserve in the practice of qigong, cultivating and mastering the life force within your own body.

Qigong is an ancient exercise that aims to unlock the body’s natural healing mechanisms by aligning the body, mind and breath.

This series will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. on the first Sunday of each month from November to February at Circle Creek Conservation Center (Nov. 2, Dec. 7, Jan. 4, and Feb. 1).

About the Class

Qi (pronounced CHEE) is the life force that animates all living things. Gong (pronounced GUNG) is the discipline of working with this life force over a period of time. So together qigong is the practice of cultivating and mastering this life force within your own body. We’ll achieve this through the practice of performing simple and gentle repetitive exercises; training the mind to observe your experience in the present; and working with coordinating the breath with movement. These exercises are easy to perform and are accessible to everyone, no matter your age or skill level, through standing and seated modifications. This practice is meant to be enjoyed in a relaxing and peaceful environment. We will alternate practicing indoors and outdoors when weather permits.
