Join Katie and Ashleigh on an exciting adventure to explore some amazing species and their habitats, from under the sea to wild places on land!

When we build new things like power lines, substations or subsea cables to bring electricity to our homes and schools, we often come across interesting animals and habitats. We need electricity to keep our lights on and keep our food fresh, and nature needs space to thrive. So how can we make sure we get both?

In this session, we’ll explore the wildlife we might see during these projects, from birds and bugs to fishes and rockpools and how we make sure space is left for nature.

Katie works in nature restoration and has always loved the natural environment whether it’s peatlands in the north of Scotland, the rolling hills of the lake distinct or the amazing beaches in Wales.

Ashleigh is a marine biologist and is interested in animals and their environments from the beach to the deepest places in the ocean, do you know the deepest place in the entire ocean?

After the session, learners will be challenged to pick a species or habitat they found the most interesting that Katie or Ashleigh talked about and create a poster or leaflet to highlight interesting facts and the importance of them.
