Power to the People: Free Book Swap

Freedom begins in the mind, and literacy is an avenue toward liberation. There’s so much to learn from the stories, both fact and fiction, that guide us in creating the world we want to see. At Benniefairy Books, we believe in our words’ power to build resilience and foster radical change within our communities. 

Join us on October 4th from 1pm-3pm at Sabin CDC Center of Joy for Power to the People: Free Book Swap. Bring a book, zine, or graphic novel that informed or changed your perspective on the world and your place in it. All genres are welcomed! Whether it was an almost-too-accurate sci-fi novel, an endearing children's book, or a collection of essays; bring the book (or two, or three!) that struck you in the best way. Come mingle with fellow booklovers, learn about Portland's only Black-disabled-femme-owned publishing house, and leave with new tools to expand your worldview and activate you in today's fight against American fascism. Masks highly encouraged!
