About this event

"Internal and External Analysis to Prepare you for Strategic Plan Development" HAS BEEN POSTPONED to November 2nd. PLEASE REGISTER HERE.

This training is being offered in collaboration with the Association of Nonprofit Specialists.

The biggest time crunch in completing a strategic plan is in completing the discovery work needed to make sure your plans are based on a realistic view of where you are both internally and externally. In this workshop we will share techniques for learning how to get a handle on your current and possible future states even before you scope the questions you would like your strategic plan to address. We will delve into important questions such as: What does it take to analyze your internal capabilities, program effectiveness, and external forces? How do you ask good questions (and of whom) to inform your planning? Who needs to be involved in creating your strategic plan?

Whether you are ready to jump in on completing a full strategic plan or want to get a head start by creating a good foundation for when you are ready to do so, this workshop will give you the tools you need to put the right plan in place to do what is right for you right now.

Key Takeaways:

  • Internal assessment options most useful for you to deploy (e.g., Impact/Feasibility Program Matrix, SWOT, Nonprofit NY markers)
  • Scoping key questions you want your strategic plan to address
  • Research methodologies and best practices for developing good question and synthesizing the responses
  • Involving a diverse population in your research and planning
  • Drafting your plan to plan

This workshop will be presented by Robin A. Yates, Principal, and Rodney Fuller, President, of Yates Advisory, LLC.

Participants who complete the post-session evaluation can receive a PDF copy of the presentation.

Area of Excellence: Planning and Evaluation; Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
