About this event

Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

This session is an opportunity to meet other family members of children who have recently been recognised as autistic. The session is purposely small, informal and relaxed and there are no expectations with regards to participating; whether you'd like to speak about and share your experiences or simply listen, everyone is welcome. The session aims to cover the following key topics with time allocated for general discussion;

Discussing Neurodiversity
Identity and Pride
Explaining Autism to your child
Recognising Ableism
Rights and Advocacy
Exploring Neuro affirming approaches

The session is suitable for anyone aged 16+. The session is also suitable for anyone considering exploring assessment for their child or young person or who is awaiting assessment.
