Overview
During this session, we will focus on the steps needed to get an accurate HUD Point-in-Time (PIT) report submitted and accepted by HUD.
This session will focus on the post-count data cleanup and PIT report creation stage of the HUD Point-in-Time (PIT) homeless count and will include the following topics:
- Locking the count activity to prevent new submissions.
- Identifying and addressing data quality issues.
- How to find and remove duplicate surveys.
- Leveraging data captured in HMIS or Show The Way to improve data completion rates.
- Extrapolating for missing survey responses.
- Incorporating safe parking and safe sleeping projects into the unsheltered counts.
- Tract swaps and other considerations for geographic sampling and enumeration.
- Setting expectations for when the results will be available.
- Gathering feedback from surveyors on the success of the count.
- Aggregating the Unsheltered PIT results with shelter counts from HMIS.
- Submitting the count results to HUDHDX.
We will walk through the creation of the HUD PIT report and demonstrate how to take advantage of the survey export and the updated "PIT Results File" while leaving time for questions and answers.
