A practical guide for teachers to implement positive behavior guidance strategies to identify individual and whole classroom needs in order to help support children and teachers in having a successful day.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

In the field of early childhood education, the focus has often been on planning an activity FOR children that is either product-focused or information-focused. This session presented by Extended Day Curriculum Instruction Specialist and Workforce Development Trainer, Gerald Bolden, will help you and your staff members experience a shift in thinking about creating experiences that are meaningful, engaging, and interactive.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will explore reasons why creating experiences WITH children leads to meaningful play and learning.
  • Participants will learn how to develop experiences that are dynamic and connective learning opportunities aligned with developmentally appropriate practice.
  • Participants will explore how experiences can promote development, align with practice, and engage children in higher order thinking.

This training is Maryland MSDE COK approved.
