Overview

Join the Florida Defenders of the Environment on a very special ride on the Ocklawaha river!

As part of the February 2026 "Reuniting the Rivers: Art of the Ocklawaha & Silver Springs" art exhibition at MCA's The Brick gallery, participating artists are invited to join a pontoon boat photography excursion led by Florida Defenders of the Environment (FDE) on December 1 or 20, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., during the Rodman Reservoir Drawdown.

This rare event offers a firsthand look at the Ocklawaha’s hidden springs, ancient cypress forests, and abundant wildlife as the river briefly returns to its natural flow.

Artists may use sketches or photographs from this experience as inspiration for their submitted works.

To participate, please sign up through Eventbrite link and select your preferred date by November 30, 2025. Additional details (location details and other) will be provided to registered artists.

Space is limited to 10 guests per trip —early sign-up is encouraged! Snacks and water will be provided. This is a free and optional event for MCA Artist Members ages 18+ participating in the February 2026 exhibition, presented by Florida Defenders of the Environment.
