Poetry Reading with 3 Area Poets Laureate
Bring your poetry and win a $250 open mic prize judged by featuring poets Kim B Miller, Holly Karapetkova, and Grace Cavalieri.
The featuring poets are all area Poets Laureate: Holly Karapetkova, Arlington poet laureate; Kim B Miller, Prince William County poet laureate; and Grace Cavalieri, Maryland poet laureate.
This is a DC Poet Project event: select open mic readers, including the open mic winner, will be invited to compete in the culminating DC Poet Project event for a $1000 book contract. Only DC residents may compete to win at the final event.
The DC Poet Project reading series and competition is produced by Day Eight with the DC Public Library and Anacostia Coordinating Council and support from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. The 2021 DC Poet Project series is curated by Regie Cabico, and hosted by Aaron Holmes.

Featuring poetry of faith, and with featuring poets from the recently published anthology, "Falling Leaves," including Lori Tsang, Jane Schapiro, and Luther Jett.

Featuring Queer poetry and in partnership with Capturing Fire Poetry Festival and featuring poets Marlena Chertok and Malik Thompson.
