Poetry Pop Up Presented by Lehigh Daily

Organized by Juanita Renay Gray in collaboration with Lehigh Daily at Civic Theatre's Studio514 venue.

Competitor entry: FREE - we've dropped the competitor entry fee to make the event accessible to all youth.

Patrons: $10 online at the door, payable by cash/electronic transfer.

Please bring general school supplies for our back-to-school supply drive.

Doors open at 6 pm - Show starts at 6:30 pm

Contest Rules

  • Contestants must be between the ages of 11 and 24.
  • Each contestant gets two (2) readings.
  • Each reading should be no longer than 3 minutes.
  • Selected works can be original or existing.
  • After each round, the audience will cast their vote.
  • After two (2) rounds, audience votes will be tallied to find the winner.

Top 3 Prizes

  • 1st Place: $250
  • 2nd Place: $150
  • 3rd Place: $50

Do I need to pre-register to compete?

Each interested contestant must pre-register to compete. Registrations will not be accepted at the door.

Can I buy audience/patron tickets online?

Yes. Patron tickets are available at the door for $10.
