Playing with Life Drawing
Overview
Life-drawing is a well-known space to practice drawing anatomy and honing observation skills. This class is more of a playground - a place to experiment with materials and techniques, and take inspiration from the human form in new directions. Open to beginners and long-time drawers, Sasha will offer technique tips and creative prompts.
Our model for this session is a Salsa dancer and teacher, so some of the poses will be Salsa-inspired, and a few will include repeating and flowing movement. But don't fear - most of our poses will be stationary, and for the moving ones Sasha will give tips to encourage you to capture the flow and feeling, rather than exact representations.
Throughout the session you are welcome to take the suggestions or stay in a personal flow. Some charcoal, pastels, and markers will be provided, along with newsprint paper. If you would like to use heavier paper, please bring.
