We are always experiencing the moment to "redefine the known"

Maybe it is a change of identity, a turning point in a relationship,

Maybe it is a word, a situation, or a memory that is given new meaning.

How do those moments that break the known reshape the way you are now?

This time, we take "redefinition" as the theme and invite you to be a storyteller or a quiet companion.

What is Playback?

一人一故事剧场（Playback Theatre）演出和传统剧院演出不同，它没有预先写好的剧本和排练好的表演，而是一个以即兴表演为表现形式的剧场。现场观众在既定的主题下自由分享自己的亲身经验、心情和故事，在主持人的引导下，演员和乐手立即运用简单而有系统的表演形式，将故事呈现出来，并把演出送回给(Playback to) 说出故事的人和所有观众。

About NYMP

New York Mandarin Playback (NYMP) ：纽约华语一人一故事剧场，是纽约州注册501（c）3的非盈利组织，每年举办多场演出，每次演出由来自不同行业、受过一人一故事剧场专业训练的演员现场演绎观众自己的故事，用生动细腻表达故事主人公的内心活动，尝试带来富有意义又或俏皮诙谐的情感反馈。NYMP每年平均公开演出3场，公开排练6场，曾在哥大心理学社，哥大社工学院，Maze Network，University Settlement, Glow Cultural Center，石溪大学， 福特汉姆大学等各个社群演出。

What is Playback?

The performance of Playback Theatre is different from traditional theater performances. It does not have a pre-written script or a rehearsed performance. It is a theater with improvisation as the performance form. The audience freely shares their personal experiences, feelings and stories under the established theme. Under the guidance of the host, the actors and musicians immediately use ritualistic forms to present the story and offer the performance as a way to honor the storyteller and all the audience.
