Playback Basics

Culture Connection Theater's program called Circle of Sparks Playback Project is a community-building theater form that combines storytelling with improvisational theater where participants "play back" stories shared by the group or the audience. Skills of listening, empathy, creativity and collaboration are developed through a series of fun improvisational theater games, acting, movement and vocal exercises. No prior acting experience is required, only a willingness to take chances. In Playback Storytelling Improv, interpreting the stories of others is a means of creating dialogue and understanding.
