About this event

Family & Education • Education

This lively virtual session for Early Childhood Educators positions joy as an essential aim in early childhood education, for both children and educators. Presenters will share lived classroom experiences of both challenge and joy, offering insight into how educators can center joy as a purposeful practice in their daily work. Together, we will explore classroom microcultures and how they shape children’s experiences, interactions, and environments, with particular attention to play as an ideal context for cultivating joy.

Participants will consider: What essential goals do we hold for early childhood education? How do classroom cultures influence opportunities for joy? What is the teacher’s role in shaping culture and practice? What are strategies for intentionally fostering joy through presence, planning, collaboration, and spontaneity? And more! Join us!

Registration is required and opens Wednesday, October 22nd at 9am.
