Plant Your Grief: An Open Mic For All Who Have Loved And Lost

Come and join us for a virtual gathering, where you can share your words and honour the losses in your life.

Speak and gain the closure you desire, or share to simply be witnessed in your pain and sorrow. Gather to support others and offer fellow mourners solidarity. Offer your experience and your vulnerability. Find communion in all of the daily griefs that impact us on an individual and collective level, and say farewell to that which no longer serves you.

Whether you're grieving a recent loss or you simply want to pay tribute to someone special, this event is for you. Let's come together to plant seeds of healing and love through our words and memories. Join us online for an evening of reflection and community support. All are welcome to participate, or simply listen and be part of this heartfelt experience.

If you would like to be considered for the open mic, please email a_poetontheroad@outlook.com with your name, the title of your piece, and how many minutes it is. Please keep pieces to a maximum of 5 minutes. Currently there is only time for one piece to be shared per person but we will let you know if that changes.

The event will feature performances from award-winning poet, performer + bestselling author, Louise Goodfield (A Poet on the Road) + a very special guest.

This open mic night is born from the release of Louise's book Plant Your Grief: 100 Poems and Prompts on Loss and Impermanence. For 100 days before this event, grievers from around the world will have been writing on prompts from the book, and sharing their shock, pain, anger, depression, guilt, love, hope and acceptance around the themes of loss and impermanence in a private facebook community. Some of those people will be sharing selected pieces at the event.

This is event is free, however there will be the option on the night, to donate to a very special charity doing incredible work to support mourners, the bereaved and those of us struggling with grief.

You deserve to be seen and heard, we hope to see you there!
