What is Plant Bingo?

Plant Bingo is a fun twist on traditional bingo! Instead of numbers, we use plant names on the cards. It's a great way to win plants and meet fellow plant enthusiasts.

How does Plant Bingo work?

Place your plant(s) on the communal table for others to win. Each participant will receive one bingo card with plant names (you can request a traditional number card if needed). We'll call out plant names, and if you get five in a row, you win! We’ll play multiple rounds as long as we have supplies.

Who needs tickets?

Only participants who will be playing bingo need a ticket. Guests who are only observing are welcome to join and observe without a ticket.

How long does the event last?

The bingo typically lasts about 2-3 hours, but feel free to stay and enjoy the food trucks at The Table at Madeley after the event.

Yes, it's open to people of all ages, so bring the whole family!

What do I need to bring?

Accepted Answer

Each participant should bring at least one plant to contribute to the communal prize table. Make sure to have your Eventbrite ticket (printed or downloaded) for entry. Also, bring cash or your debit/credit cards for donations or to make purchases.

What kind of prizes are available?

Prizes include plants brought by participants and non-plant items valued at $10 or more. Some sponsors may chose to donate plants or provide free door prizes for the first guests who check-in.

Why are tickets not all free?

Accepted Answer

While we offer many free and affordable events, paid tickets—like those for Plant Bingo—are essential to helping us continue our work. These ticket sales help fund our mission, cover event expenses, and support the creation of new programs. Without them, most of what we do wouldn’t be possible.

Is there an entry fee for this Plant Bingo?

No, this event is free to attend  and guests are welcome to observe. However, please bring at minimum one plant for each participant. Donations to Green Thumb are always encouraged & welcome. You can also purchase a Paid ticket and receive extra ticket vouchers for more prizes at time of Check in.

Will there be food and drinks available?

Yes, The Table at Madeley has a variety of food trucks available for purchase. Outside food and drinks are prohibited.

Do I need to bring a plant to participate?

Accepted Answer

If possible, participants should bring at least one plant to offer as a prize for the winners. If you bring more than one plant, it will help cover for others who might not bring one. Non-plant items worth $10 or more are also accepted as prizes.

Currently, we are planning the next six months. So keep an eye out on Green Thumb's Facebook page and follow on Eventbrite.

Are donations tax-deductible?

We’re in the process of our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status through Green Thumb Collective. Once approved, we’ll provide updates on tax-deductible contributions. In the meantime, we deeply appreciate all community support.

We love working with local businesses and organizations! Sponsors help by donating items, covering event costs, or partnering on outreach efforts. If you’re interested, message us or email thegreenlystuff@gmail.com—we’d love to chat!

Are there free or low-cost options to participate?

Definitely! We regularly offer free plant swaps, low-cost activities, and community events. Even for paid events like Plant Bingo, we often release a limited number of free tickets so everyone can join the fun, regardless of income.

What is Green Thumb Collective?

Green Thumb Collective is the nonprofit extension of our mission. It was created to expand access to garden-focused programs, wellness resources, and educational activities. Through this branch, we’re able to grow our reach and impact across more communities.
