Plant Ally Circle
Overview
🌑 Elder • When Darkness Returns
Early Winter •Elder Archetype • Death • Surrender • Integration• Wholeness
This circle is part of The Wild Soul’s Journey: a seasonal series of Plant Ally Circles that follow the soul’s evolution through the natural seasons and archetypes of Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Elder. Each Plant Ally Circle invites you into relationship with a seasonal plant guide and a stage of the soul’s journey.
Early Winter is the threshold between life and rest.
a time when what has fallen begins to break down, when the soul releases what can no longer grow, and the wisdom of decay begins its quiet work of transformation.
It’s the season of Elder, who reminds us that wholeness comes not from holding on, but from trusting the Earth to receive what’s ready to return.
There comes a moment when the soul knows it’s time to lay it all down,
to stop holding on, and to let what has been lived return to the soil.
Now, with Elder, we arrive at the threshold of surrender.
Elder stands at the edge of the underworld,
hollow and rooted. Inviting us to offer everything we’ve carried back to the Earth. The identities, the patterns, the striving,
the stories that can no longer grow.
This is the time to lay it all down,
not as loss, but as an act of reverence.
To Trust that the Earth knows what to do with what’s finished.
That she will break it down through her sacred decay, integrate it,
and return it to the web of life in her own way.
In our culture, death and endings have been exiled.
We rush past them, forgetting that are part of the sacred rhythm of life.
Here, Elder is our guide, the Wise One, the Crone.
Who stands between worlds, holding the knowledge that death is not the end, but the return. Teaching us to die consciously, to offer what’s finished as an act of devotion, and to trust the unseen regeneration happening beneath the frost.
✨ This circle is a space to honor what is ready to be given as an offering to the Earth, to give your year back to the soil that holds you, and to remember that surrender is how life continues.
You’ll also receive Elder tea during circle and receive a bottle of flower essence to take home, supporting continued integration through the season.
This is a sacred space to slow down, connect with the Earth, and listen deeply to the wisdom within and around us. No prior experience with journeywork, plant spirit practice, or ritual is needed. All who feel called are welcome!
