Want to successfully pitch your ideas to editors? Join us for a hands-on, inside conversation about what they’re looking for. Award-winning journalist Mary C. Curtis will interview Casey Blake, the Senior Voices Editor for USA Today Opinion, and Grace Miserocchi, Opinion Editor for the Chicago Tribune. They’ll share advice on crafting compelling pitches, the best practices for getting your op-ed published, and take questions.

ABOUT THE EXPERTS
Casey Blake is the Senior Voices Editor for USA Today Opinion. A native of Asheville, NC, Casey started with the USA Today Network in 2010 as a reporter and columnist covering education, social issues, state politics and more.
Grace Miserocchi is an opinion editor for the Chicago Tribune. Previously, she worked for the Local News Initiative at the Medill School of Journalism, and as a news designer.
Mary C. Curtis is an award-winning multimedia journalist and educator based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C. Writing and speaking frequently on the intersection of politics, culture and race, Mary is a columnist at CQ Roll Call, host of its “Equal Time” podcast, guest host of Slate’s “What Next” podcast, and contributor to NPR. She is a former Nieman Fellow at Harvard who has contributed essays to several books. Mary C. has been a Fellowship Coach and Facilitator with The OpEd Project since 2013.
