The Class: Pilates Mat

This all-levels class blends the foundational principles of Pilates with functional movement to condition the whole body.

Using tools like light hand weights, bands, sliders, ankle weights, Pilates balls, and rings, you’ll engage in exercises that strengthen your core, improve posture, and enhance flexibility—all while honoring your breath and moving with control and flow.

Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the first time or deepening an existing practice, this class will leave you feeling stronger, more aligned, and recharged—mind, body, and spirit.

Hi, I’m Chekara—your dedicated Pilates instructor.

My journey with Pilates began as part of my healing process after a car accident, and it has since become both my passion and my purpose. I design classes rooted in the classical principles of Pilates—breath, control, alignment, and flow—while also integrating functional movement to support strength, mobility, and everyday living.

In my teaching, I invite you to move mindfully, connect to your body, and discover how Pilates can build both resilience and joy. My mantra, “Sculpt into a stronger you,” reflects not only physical transformation but also the empowerment that comes from moving with intention.

Every class is designed to meet you where you are—whether you’re brand new to Pilates or an experienced mover—and together we’ll grow stronger, more centered, and more grounded.

“My Whole Self” is a reflective and empowering workshop designed to help participants explore how they define themselves—and who they truly want to be. Through guided self-inquiry and honest conversation, this experience invites Black women to reconnect with their values, release limiting narratives, and walk away with greater clarity, confidence, and alignment in how they show up in the world.

Cass Cruz is a Boston-based empowerment coach, mom, and multi-hyphenate creative passionate about helping people reconnect with their inner truth and lead lives rooted in authenticity. As the founder of Nova Coaching, Cass partners with individuals and organizations to support personal growth, deepen self-awareness, and build more aligned, empowered pathways forward. Drawing on years of experience in corporate leadership, holistic coach training, and lived experience as a woman of color, Cass creates spaces where transformation feels possible—and sustainable.
