This film, inspired by the classic novel The Phantom of the Opera (Le Fantôme de l'Opéra), was penned by French author Gaston Leroux in 1911. Directed by Rupert Julian in 1925, it stars Lon Chaney as Erik the Phantom and Mary Philbin as the singer Christine Daaé, making it the most faithful adaptation of Leroux's work. Some scenes sparked significant reactions from audiences, and we are thrilled to showcase this film with newly composed music created live, a century later!
