About this event

Pete Smack is 56 years old. He has the wisdom of someone twice his age, the spryness of someone half his age, and the oversized belief that his every opinion deserves an audience of someone a quarter his age.

Don 't miss the exclusive run of his new one-man standup show, "Last Man Standing," the weekend of Sept. 19-21 in Raleigh. He'll share relatable stories about his life, mixed with a touch of the absurd. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll want to buy the T-shirt.

Matt White will host. Among many other credits, Matt is the 2020 winner of NC's Funniest and the director of "Last Man Standing."

General admission seats are $25 (plus Eventbrite fees/taxes); online sales close 2 hours before each show. You can also buy general admission seats at the door (space permitting) for $35.

Frequently asked questions

Is the show appropriate for all ages?

All are welcome, but Pete's material is PG-13. No profanity, but some adult themes and double entendres. Reach out to Pete directly at pjsmack@yahoo.com for a potential discount for anyone 18 and under.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Probably. Space permitting, general admission tickets will be available at the door for $35. But it's much better for all of us to buy your $25 tickets in advance. They will remain available online until 2 hours before each show.

Will there be drinks?

Yes, beer and wine will be available for sale. So will snacks. But not full meals.

What and where is the The Studio?

The Studio is Theater Raleigh's secondary performance space. It is located at 3027 Barrow Drive, a few hundred yards past Theater Raleigh's main building that fronts Old Wake Forest Road in Raleigh (6638 Old Wake Forest Road).

Is there free parking?

Yes, there's a free lot at The Studio (we'll send a handy map later) or if that fills up, a few hundred yards away at Theater Raleigh.

Can I get a refund if my plans change?

Reach Pete directly at pjsmack@yahoo.com and we'll figure something out.

Is there a hotel discount for out-of-town folks?

Yes! There's a discounted group rate of $159/night available through Aug. 20 at the Courtyard Raleigh North/Triangle Town Center, only 1.1 miles from the theater. There will also be a loose schedule of events for out-of-towners. Reach out to Pete at pjsmack@yahoo.com for all the details.

When do the doors open for the show?

The doors will open one hour before each showtime. Thus 6pm for the Fri 7pm show; 5pm for the Sat 6pm show; and 2pm for Sun's 3pm matinee. You'll want to arrive early to have a drink, mingle and find your seat.
