You should attend Private Applicator training if:

    • you are a grower or you are employed by a grower. OR you plan to use restricted use pesticides on your own personal property. (To apply a license, you also have to pass the General Standards - Core exam)
    • you need CEUs to renew your license. This class grants 4.0 CEUs to Private Applicator in Ag Row Crop, Ag Tree Crop, Demonstration & Research, Ag Animal, Ornamental & Turf, and or Soil and Greenhouse Fumigation.

    • The Worker Protection Standard
    • Application equipment
    • Equipment calibration
    • Pesticide calculations


Study materials (book) for the exam: Online order from the UF/IFAS Extension Bookstore: SM53 - Private Applicator Agricultural Pest Control. NOTE: We highly recommend reading the book before you take the class or exam because the failure rate is very high. Registration for the class can be done by either mail/in person or credit card through the online system.

What should I bring to the class? You must bring an official photo ID to take the exam. If you are attending for CEUs, please bring your license number and an official ID. Bring a pen or pencil so you can take notes. This is a closed book exam.
