Join New York Adventure Club for a seven-part series that delves into the diverse regions of Peru, uncovering how geography, history, and tradition come together to shape one of the world’s most dynamic and enduring cultures. In Part Three: Ica, we’ll journey into Peru’s southern desert, where ancient geoglyphs, lush vineyards, and deep-rooted traditions reveal the surprising life that thrives beneath the sun-scorched dunes.

Led by Peruvian Tour Guide and cultural expert Vanessa Vasquez, our deep dive into the different regions of Peru will include:

• The mysterious Nazca Lines, whose enormous desert etchings continue to puzzle researchers and inspire wonder
• Huacachina Oasis, a surreal desert escape steeped in myth and surrounded by towering dunes
• The rise of Ica’s wine and pisco industries, and how these beverages became cultural icons
• Ceremonial traditions of pre-Hispanic desert civilizations, shaped by arid landscapes and cosmic beliefs
• Local dishes that define the region, including carapulcra (spiced potato stew) and chocotejas (sweet confections)
• The Harvest Festival, a vibrant celebration of wine, music, and the agricultural spirit of Ica
