Renowned French filmmaker and performance artist Véronique Aubouy brings her bold and poetic experiment to San Francisco: a one-hour improvised summary of Marcel Proust’s monumental novel In Search of Lost Time, drawn entirely from memory.
Far from a conventional lecture, each performance is a unique, living experience, a personal, intimate retelling that evolves with each telling, guided by the artist’s own memories and the unpredictable pathways of recollection.
“A story from another time that reveals something of our own.”
For over 30 years, Véronique Aubouy has dedicated her artistic journey to exploring Proust’s universe. Her landmark video project Proust Lu features over 1,500 people reading the novel, page by page, creating a 144-hour cinematic archive. Her work has been showcased in major museums across the globe, from Paris to Rome to New York.
Now, for one night only, she brings her celebrated performance to San Francisco audiences.
Don’t miss this rare encounter with Proust through the eyes, and voice, of one of France’s most original contemporary artists.
