Use information and data more effectively to run your co-operative, plan for the future and show its value
About this event
Keeping track of data can be a big challenge. What information is important to collect? How do you bring it together to gain insights about what you’re doing, make good decisions and communicate your co-op’s impact and value to others? The Demonstrating Value (DV) framework is a simple and practical approach that can help.
In this workshop you’ll learn how to clearly define what information is most useful to collect to show performance and impact. You’ll also find out how you can demonstrate impact in dashboards, infographics or impact reports to bring your co-op’s data to life.
In the session you’ll be introduced to concepts that you can take further using Demonstrating Value’s Getting Started toolkit that includes free-to-download guides, templates and other resources. Time will be set aside in the workshop for your questions and for open discussion about the practical issues, challenges and solutions in measurement and evaluation.
The session is facilitated by:
- Cathy Lang, Consultant in Social Innovation and Nonprofit Sustainability (C. Lang Consulting)
- Bryn Sadownik, Consultant, Evaluation and Learning (Vancity Community Foundation)
This learning opportunity is directed to all types of co-operatives working in different sectors of the economy. They’re suitable for executive directors, managers, program staff, communications staff, board members, and others directly involved in running or directing your co-op. Feel free to share this invite link with others you think would benefit. Before the session, we’ll reach out to you with a short activity that you can do ahead of time to get the most of this session.
