Perfecting the Pivot. Fearless strategies for evolving your business in a changing landscape.

Staying nimble, brave and open to all channels in the current business environment is essential, but uncertainty or a lack of resources/support can leave us stuck in a career rut. This lecture will focus on two successful solopreneurs and contractors who have pivoted careers or identified new channels of opportunity that resulted in exciting and measurable business growth.

This session explores how strategic pivots, consumer insight, and brand alignment can drive innovation and growth. It's a candid look at turning emerging trends into opportunity with precision and purpose. This is the first in our LDNY Entrepreneurship Series, sponsored exclusively by Frederick Wildman & Sons.

Samples of Oceano Ultra 3.5%ABV Syrah will be served.

Dame Rachel Martin is the founder and CEO of Oceano Wines and co-founder of the AFN A Wine Certified program. With over two decades of experience in viticulture, winemaking, and hospitality, she has expanded the definition of premium wine by introducing luxury nonalcoholic and low-alcohol offerings through Oceano Zero and Oceano Ultra. She served as Executive Vice President of her family's Boxwood Estate Winery, where she led the successful petition to establish the Middleburg Virginia AVA .. Her work has been featured in Bloomberg, Forbes, VinePair, and Food & Wine. Rachel will share her journey launching Oceano Zero-from identifying white space in the nonalcoholic wine category to conducting in-depth market and regulatory research through to execution. @oceanowines

Dame Hannah Howard is the author of the bestselling memoirs Feast: True Love in and out of the Kitchen and Plenty: A Memoir of Food and Family. She writes for Travel+ Leisure and Bon Appetit and teaches writing classes online. In our session, she'll address her pivots as a restaurant manager, website editor, copywriter, and professional Goldfish taster. Hannah lives in New Jersey with her family and loves stinky cheese. @hannahmhoward
