Join us for a guided post-run recovery workshop at Purusha Yoga in the Richmond! We’ll kick things off at 1pm with a group warm-up, followed by a group 2-mile run at any pace along an easy out-and-back route from Purusha—no chance of getting lost! Prefer to take it easy? There will also be a walking option just under a mile.
After getting our bodies moving with the run or walk, we’ll return to the studio for a guided recovery session using foam rollers and stretches for the perfect recovery flow. Foam rollers will be available to borrow, and we recommend bringing your own yoga mat, water, and appropriate shoes. Bags and personal items can be safely stored at the studio during the event.
Stick around afterward for snacks, drinks, and fun prizes on Purusha's sunny patio! The main event runs from 1-2pm, with time to hang out and refuel afterward.
Whether you're a runner, walker, or just looking for some recovery tools—this one’s for you!
Event Lead by Dr. Ace Fletcher from Golden Gate Chiropractic. Dr. Ace, a chiropractor based in the Outer Sunset who specializes in helping active professionals bounce back from injuries and perform at their peak. After his own collegiate track career was cut short by injury, he made it his mission to support other athletes in staying strong, healthy, and doing what they love. Now, he’s bringing his expertise to our post-run recovery workshop—because smart recovery is the key to lasting performance.
Frequently asked questions
There is metered and free street parking near the studio. Please allow time to find parking before event.
No! Any one is welcome to walk if that is more comfortable. If you need to hang out at the yoga studio that is okay too. It can be easier to feel the stretches and mobility work after activity, which is why we will start with something short before the recovery session.
We will be running 2 miles and will review the route ahead of time. The route will be simple and we will stop along the way to allow people to catch up. The main group will be around a 10 minute mile.
Make sure to dress for both outdoor and indoor movement, bring a comfortable shoe and water. Please bring a yoga mat for the recovery portion of the event. The studio will be staffed during the run, so any belongings will be safe inside.
This event is aimed for runners of all skill levels. If you are unsure about running 2 miles you are welcome to join the walking group. The post exercise foam rolling and stretches will be geared towards running recovery, which can use after a run at any speed or distance.
