Who Should Attend: The content is designed for students, cybersecurity professionals, practitioners, managers, and leaders seeking to understand how pen testing tools work and how to leverage them to improve defense.


Description:

Often overshadowed in a world of remote cyber attacks, physical security breaches can be just as devastating to an organization. This session will discuss how “pen testing” tools such as the WiFi Pineapple, Flipper Zero, O.MG Cables, Skimmers, and lock-picking can be used to gain entry to restricted areas and systems. See some demonstrations of hacking tools in action and learn how to use these tools for good to better secure your organizations.


Instructor Bio:

Steve Koinm has been in the IT industry for over 40 years now, with a focus on Security throughout most of that time. The last 9+ years have been focused on Security in the Credit Union industry after founding a Credit Union Service Organization and leading a vCISO practice at Pure IT Credit Union Services, currently serving clients in 42 states. Steve serves as the CISO for Pure IT, as well as the vCISO or vCIO for numerous clients, while leading a team of others in similar roles.

Steve is active in providing assessments and roadmaps for credit unions, addressing the Board of Directors who need to be able to provide a credible challenge to their technology team, and speaks regularly at security and credit union conferences throughout the country. Steve is a member of the Leadership Advisory board of the National Credit Union Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (NCU-ISAO) and holds many certifications, including CISSP, CCSK, and SAS-AP.
