About this event

Learn to weave with peg looms, which have been used for thousands of years. They are simple in design but offer limitless possibilities to make woven pieces such as seat pads, rugs, blankets, tapestries, and fabrics. You can weave with all kinds of yarns, fabric strips, raw or prepared fleece, even recycled materials.

You will learn how to thread the loom and create a piece of colorful and textured woven art. Use of a peg loom and tools, plus fibers, are included in the cost. If you happen to have some specials fibers you’d like to weave into your piece, bring them along.

No experience necessary.

About the instructor:

Margaret B. Russell is a self-taught handweaver with over 40 years of experience, a weaving teacher for close to 30 years, and a lifetime appreciation of making items by hand.  She grew up in a home where, what could be handmade, was handmade.  From clothing to furnishings, her parents were constant examples that spoke to the pure satisfaction of making something, anything yourself.
