About the event

This interactive 2-hour workshop is designed to equip faculty with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to implement peer assessment in Team-Based Learning (TBL) sessions effectively. Through a structured sequence of Readiness Assurance Tests (RATs), application exercises, and facilitated discussions, participants will explore the significance of peer assessment in TBL, its impact on accountability and teamwork, and best practices for implementation.

By the end of this session, participants will design a peer assessment tool, select the most appropriate method for their TBL context, and justify their approach. This workshop promotes evidence-based assessment practices, fosters fairness and transparency in TBL evaluations, and enhances student engagement through structured peer accountability.

Learning objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the importance of peer assessment in TBL, including its impact on learning, accountability, and teamwork.
  2. Compare and contrast different methods of peer assessment, identifying their strengths and weaknesses.
  3. Design a peer assessment tool, selecting an appropriate method and justifying its use.
