American Heart Association's (AHA) PALS Renewal Certification event hosted by USA Health in Mobile, Al. Are you ready to enhance your skills in pediatric emergency care? Join us for AHA's Pediatric Advanced Life Support course designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to handle pediatric emergencies. Our experienced AHA instructors will guide you through the latest guidelines and best practices. Don't miss this opportunity to become certified in PALS and make a difference in pediatric care! Once registration is confirmed, course location details will be emailed. If your certification has already expired, you will need to register for the 2-day initial certification course instead.
PreCourse Requirements:
Prepare for the course by doing the following:
- Review and understand the information in your PALS Provider Manual
- The resuscitation scenarios require that your BLS skills and knowledge are current. During this PALS Course, you will be tested on pediatric high-quality BLS skills, using a feedback manikin.
- Review, understand, and pass the mandatory pre-course self-assessment test accessible at https://elearning.heart.org/course/427
- Be prepared to show proof of current certification that has not expired.
- The AHA requires that each participant have the required score report & certificate documents prior to the start of class. Print your score sheet & certificate for the pre-course self-assessment test. Bring the certificate and score sheet with you to class. If you do not have the required documents, you will not be allowed to attend the class. If you are unable to print these documents, you may email them to USAStaffDevelopment@health.southalabama.edu.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. You should complete the online precourse self assessment and save the complete (2-3 paged) score report along with your completion certificate to be turned in at course sign in on Day 1. You are also encouraged to bring pen and notebook paper to take notes during the course.
No problem. Log back into AHA's eLearning site at https://elearning.heart.org/ to retrieve it. Go to MyCourses, then select "Review", review your entire test to then get to the score report. Or, scroll down in MyCourses to select "Download Completion Certificate" under the completed course.
No. You are welcome to bring your lunch and/or snacks with you.
Course confirmations will be emailed out 5 business days before the scheduled session. This email will include location directions and general course details.

AHA does NOT allow a grace period for recertifications. If your certification has expired before the course start date, you must register for the INITIAL course session instead.
