The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) DFW Chapter invites you to our second Professional Development Series (PDS)!!! Presented by Intertek's Noemi Martinez & Bruno Covolan.

This presentation will cover how transitioning from being a student or being promoted into your desired role can be challenging. There are many skills and attributes beyond technical competencies which most managers look for and require, which may not be initially apparent. This presentation will highlight some of those soft skills and discuss how to implement them in your day to day to differentiate yourself from your peers to attain your desired role.

Speaker Bios

Noemi Martinez is an Engineering Team Leader at Intertek’s Plano Texas facility. She is responsible for leading a product safety and compliance engineering team focusing on customer service and business development excellence. Noemi attended The University of Dallas, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Her career began consulting in the healthcare construction and design sector before transitioning to her current role in product safety compliance.

Brunno Covolan, (P.E. Texas & California) is an Engineering Manager at Intertek, Plano TX responsible for appliances, industrial equipment, and hazardous locations. Brunno has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and MS in Systems Engineering. Brunno's professional experience includes positions as Intertek product safety leadership (6 years), Regional Technical Lead for Intertek (Electrical Safety), and refrigeration application designer (10 years). Brunno is also an author/presenter for IEEE ISPCE product safety conferences with lead trainer experience for compliance engineers.
