The Laughing Academy is delighted to announce a series of pop-up shows in the Lake Geneva area ~ kicking off with our old pal Paul Farahvar taking over the beautiful Boxed and Burlap location in downtown Delavan!

Combining a cafe, espresso bar, a fully-stocked "secret" speakeasy bar AND an event space -- Boxed & Burlap is your one-stop shop for an awesome evening!

Come early, grab a bite or a drink, and meet us in the downstairs performance space for fabulous stand-up sets from Paul Farahvar and Jake Snell!

• ABOUT THE LINEUP

PAUL FARAHVAR - Headliner

Known for his dry, quick-witted humor, Paul Farahvar delights audiences with unique insights centered on being a former lauded lawyer (cited in the industry's "Top 40 under 40") and a current aging bachelor of Middle-Eastern descent.

After becoming a staple on the Chicago Comedy Scene, he began touring as a feature with heavy hitters like Jen Kirkman, Demetri Martin, and Gary Gulman, and later as a headliner himself selling out rooms across the country.

One of The Chicago Reader's "Top 40 Up and Coming Comedians" in 2017, Paul was also chosen as runner-up for 2021's "Best Stand-Up" and his podcast Singles Only! won that year's "Best Podcast" award as well. In addition, he was a regular guest host on WGN Radio, and is known for the role of "Karam Haddad" on NBC's 'Chicago Med,' and recently launched the “Why Are You Awake” podcast to the delight of night owls like himself.

Paul's Dry Bar special Always A Groomsman and his special Middle Western, Middle Eastern, are currently available for streaming - but FIRST, you can catch him live in person at Boxed & Burlap in Delevan WI!

JAKE SNELL

Jake Snell cut his teeth in the Madison scene, and has become a favorite at top comedy spots throughout the country. In addition to headlining tours across the country, he's has had the honor of featuring for five shows on Neal Brennan’s “Brand New Neal” tour shared the stage with celebrity comedians such as Kyle Kinane, Chris Distefano, Matteo Lane, and Hannah Berner, and opened for Jack Whitehall’s first US tour at the illustrious Chicago Theater.
