Wind Farm Flow Control (WFFC) has the potential to significantly improve the performance and reliability of wind farms by actively managing turbine interactions and wake effects. Despite demonstrated value, industry adoption remains limited due to technical, operational, and regulatory challenges.
This workshop, hosted by IEA Wind Task 44, will provide a platform for open dialogue between industry and research. The session will:
- Highlight the most pressing barriers to large-scale WFFC deployment.
- Explore how academia and research institutes can support industry in addressing these barriers.
- Share real-world insights from Siemens Gamesa’s Wake Adapt product.
- Facilitate discussion on pathways to accelerate WFFC implementation.
Whether you are an engineer, researcher, policymaker, or industry stakeholder, this workshop will help you better understand the challenges and opportunities in bringing WFFC from concept to commercial reality.
