About this event
During the 2- hour birthday party, children will learn about Pasadena Humane's mission and vision of providing opportunities for animals to find homes. They’ll make purposeful animal enrichment toys and enjoy a behind-the-scenes shelter tour. The celebration will end with a birthday celebration in the Pasadena Humane classroom.

*Please note that Guardian/ Parent is responsible for all food items (cake, pizza, etc.) and additional party favors for guests. We will supply one branded swag bag for the guest of honor and party favors for all children in attendance.
Our team will have covered and decorated your tables with our dog or cat-themed decorations. We will provide all of the paper goods for the event. We do ask that any large bulky decorations you bring be taken home. Our team will clean up all the other trash. You are welcome to bring food that does not require on-site preparation or storage. No chafing dishes, hot plates, or crockpots are allowed. Food deliveries are permitted, but Pasadena Humane staff members cannot assist.

Frequently asked questions
The party package includes 20 spaces for party attendants (including adults). If you would like more guests to attend, there is an additional $20 fee per person with a maximum of eight additional guests.
The population at our shelter changes daily. We cannot guarantee a hands-on experience, but you will see some beautiful animals during the shelter tour.
We will not host a party for children under seven for safety reasons. We will make an exception for the birthday child's younger siblings. We ask that in doing so, a designated parent/guardian will be responsible for monitoring that child.
Yes! We encourage everyone interested to donate items we need for the animals. We have included our Wishlist to ensure you find the things we need when you come. As the seasons change, so do the needs of the shelter. Thank you!
For cancellations made more than 4 weeks before the party date, a refund (minus a $75) administrative fee) will be granted. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than four weeks before the party date, and the entire party fee will be forfeited.
Yes, we will allow a parent/guardian to add the finishing touches to our space for 30 minutes before your time and drop off any items for the party. You may decorate the tops of the tables. You may not hang anything from the walls or the ceiling.
Streamers, confetti, string-a-can, silly string, inflatables (of any kind), piñatas, etc. are prohibited.
Due to the nature of our shelter environment, we do not have any storage facilities for food or gifts before or after your event.
Comfortable and casual clothes. We prefer that everyone wears pants that cover and protect their legs, and closed-toed shoes are always better as you will be walking through the kennels and spaces with live animals.
There is two-hour parking on Raymond. Our underground garage has limited parking. Additional parking can be found at the Del Mar Train Station. The first 2 hours are $1.00, and $2 each hour after that.
No, we leave that up to the parent/guardian; since so many dietary preferences exist, we ask that you supply the food (pizza, cake, etc.).
Unfortunately, we are prohibited from helping carry items to and from your car. You are responsible for bringing and taking all items from the event.
Yes, we just ask that you keep it at a volume that does not disturb the animals at the shelter.
