Join us as we share our journey with Parents as Partners - a research-informed project exploring how the 50 Things to Do Before You're Five initiative is helping to strengthen parent-practitioner partnerships.


Hear from Chloe Storr as she shares insights from her research, which rethinks how we work with parents by placing families at the heart of children’s learning, wellbeing, and development. Rooted in current evidence, this work highlights how meaningful collaboration is improving outcomes for children and shaping our practice along the way.

Guest speakers:


Philippa Thompson, Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University, will consider current practice and research that has a focus on how parents and practitioners can build positive co productive relationships - offering practical takeaways for more collaborative and inclusive early years settings.

Sofia Dauraiz and Shummel Uddin from Better Start Bradford’s Community Engagement Team will explore how parents are empowered to shape services and lead community initiatives.

Becca Oberg, Director of the Institute for the Early Years at Birth to 19, will address screen time concerns and share strategies for working with parents to promote healthy, play-based habits.
