About this event

This course provides parents and caregivers the chance to learn about how their own trauma histories and adverse experiences might impact their parenting journey.

The goal of this training is to empower participants through education and understanding. Participants will learn the challenges that a trauma history may present in parenting, discuss strategies for parenting while facing these challenges, and learn how to maintain a regulated emotional and physical state.

Objectives:

  • Define Adverse Childhood Experiences
  • Identify the impact of trauma on a person’s stress response
  • Understand potential triggers and responses while parenting with a trauma history
  • Explore strategies for sharing one’s story with children
  • Learn strategies for emotional regulation
