About this event

Parenting can be hard and isolating. If you or your child are queer, polyamorous and/or neurodivergent, parenting can be even more of a challenge because your family doesn't fit the mold. You might not find acceptance in your family, neighborhood or school. You might face judgement, stigma, or bullying. You might feel unwelcome in mainstream parenting spaces. You might even wonder if there's something wrong with you or your child.

It doesn't have to be that way- you and your children can thrive, not in spite of who you are, but because of it. We're going to explore how breaking the mold can make parenting better, more connected, and more joyful for you and your whole family. Get ready to explore communication and boundaries in a playful, judgement free space, and learn how embracing your family's uniqueness can lead to a depth and authenticity in parenting that feels deeply nurturing.

When you leave this workshop, you'll have essential tools to customize your parenting to your unique needs and your unique child, clarity about how to protect and defend your family from anyone who isn't supportive, and an understanding of where to find community, support, and joy when times get tough. Parenting outside the box can be your greatest strength!

About your instructor: Jen believes that relationships are revolutionary. Through their 3 years of training as a Holistic Family Consultant, their decades of experience in community building, and their compassionate, playful, and insightful coaching style, they help families develop relationships in which everyone’s needs are met, everyone can thrive, and that feel connected, joyful, and sustainable. Their approach welcomes queer, non-monogamous, and neurodivergent individuals seeking to improve their parenting, partner, and self relationships, without pathologizing any part of who they are. They know that through building healthy relationships at home, we can build an inclusive and expansive world in which we do not need to sacrifice parts of ourselves to gain connection.
