Parenting from Within: Day Retreats to Help You Parent with Presence, Patience, and Purpose
20 & 27 September 2025, Rio Grande
Parenting is hard—and often, it’s our own reactions that surprise us the most. How do we stay grounded and compassionate when our kids push every button we have?
Daniella Gould, parenting coach and owner of Santosa Yoga and Health, is offering two separate parenting retreats in a beautiful space in Rio Grande. These retreats are designed to help you find calm in the chaos, reconnect with your inner resources, and respond to your children with greater patience and presence.
Join one or both retreats to learn practical tools for staying steady in the tough moments—and to nurture more joy, connection, and resilience in yourself and your family.
Each retreat also offers you something every parent needs: a well-deserved self-care break in a nourishing, supportive setting.
Parenting Retreat #1:
Re-Parent Your Inner Child: Becoming the Parent You Needed
🗓️ September 20 | 9.00am – 5:30pm | Includes lunch and snacks
This retreat is an invitation to pause and reflect on how your own childhood experiences may still live on in your parenting today. You’ll explore unresolved wounds and survival strategies—not to judge yourself, but to understand and transform the patterns you may be unintentionally passing on.
You’ll leave with greater clarity, compassion for yourself, and new parenting tools to respond—rather than react.
Retreat Flow:
- Opening Circle & Grounding Practice
- Yoga (Meeting your inner child)
- Reflection: Understanding the Core Needs of Children (How were you parented? Were your needs met?)
- Childhood Survival Strategies (How unhealed experiences show up in shame, control, or emotional reactivity in adulthood)
- Lunch (Mindful and nourishing)
- Inner Child Work: Becoming the Parent You Needed (Explore how to support your inner child today and reduce reactivity)
- Breathwork (Replace survival strategies, rewire responses, reclaim self-trust)
- Closing Ceremony (Key takeaways)
Parenting Retreat #2
Conscious Parenting: Raising Confident, Kind, and Resilient Children
🗓️ September 27 | 9.00am – 5:30pm | Includes lunch and snacks
This retreat will help you parent from connection rather than control, and from presence rather than old, reactive patterns. Through embodiment practices, reflection, and nervous system education, you’ll learn how to cultivate a more regulated, joyful, and emotionally attuned parenting style.
You’ll gain tools to co-regulate with your child, build emotional safety, and strengthen your relationship through everyday moments.
Retreat Flow:
- Opening Inquiry: Who Do You Want to Be as a Parent? (Clarifying the qualities you want to embody)
- Yoga: Cultivating Kindness, Patience, and Compassion for Yourself (Because self-care is essential to staying steady)
- Understanding the Nervous System (Misbehavior as dysregulation and how to regulate & co-regulate)
- Conscious Listening (How to truly listen so your child feels seen, heard, and safe)
- Lunch (time for reflection or connection)
- Being the Calm Captain of Your Ship (Connection over correction, setting boundaries with love, the power of repair)
- Finding Joy and Silliness (Understanding play as your child’s language of connection)
- Breathwork (Emotional Intelligence for the Whole Family)
- Closing Ceremony (Key takeaways)

About Daniella Gould, Parenting Coach
Daniella used to be a mom who yelled, threatened, and tried to be controlling of her son (now 17 years old) because this was the behavior that was modelled to her. In the process, she felt lost as a mother and was very disappointed that her parenting actions were not living up to her ideals. Once she did some inner work and made a concerted effort to apply the philosophy of yoga to her parenting—and after taking parenting and psychology classes and workshops—her approach to how she interacts with her son, and how he responds, has completely changed. Incorporating yoga philosophy and principles has made her happier about her parenting approach and her son feels more listened to and appreciated. She is a more confident and kind-hearted mother, and her connection with her son has grown. This transformation in her relationship with her son, inspired Daniella to share this approach with other parents.
Daniella has facilitated Parenting with Yoga Philosophy workshop series and retreats for 6 years. This has included workshops for parents at multiple, private K-12 schools in San Juan. She has received many positive reviews from parents who attended her parenting workshop series and retreats who feel that the tools have transformed their families’ lives (see a few reviews below).
Daniella is the owner of Santosa Yoga and Health in Puerto Rico and teaches a variety of classes, workshops, and retreats that guide students on how to incorporate yoga philosophy into their lives. She has practiced yoga for more than thirty years and completed an MA in Asian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley.
Reviews from Tripadvisor about Daniella’s parenting retreats/workshops:
“The parenting retreat was so beneficial to me and reshaped my perspective on parenting. I am now a “conscious” parent in practice; I am not all the way there–still tons of practice to be had, but the tools that you gave me are tremendous support for me as I navigate having a loving, respectful, and fun relationship with my son and also with myself.”
“I am thankful for you and the group for creating a safe environment to learn from each other and listen to honest stories about hard parenting and relationships with our children. It gave me a different perspective. I feel I have grown individually and together [with my partner] during these classes and I will forever remember you all.”
“[My husband and I] went on a parenting retreat with Daniella…and it was life changing…Daniella’s approach was the perfect balance between enlightening and measured. A more pushy person could have gone too far with shadow work and getting into places too deep, but she perfectly walked the line of looking into your past to see how it impacts your present while staying grounded in your current reality so that you could truly grow as the person and parent parent you want to be. There was a wonderful mix of people from different backgrounds, with kids of different ages, and I know we all walked away with something special.”
Enjoy a lovely day of self-care, meet other parents, feel less alone in your parenting challenges, and learn new tools that will help create smoother relationships with your children!
