Parent/Child Science Experiment Workshop - Partnership with UNR
Overview
This seasonal STEM workshop invites young children and their families to explore science, technology, engineering, and math through meaningful play, storytelling, and hands-on discovery.
During this interactive experience, families will participate in parent–child book reading and engaging, age-appropriate activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Children will explore early STEM concepts through building, experimenting, problem-solving, and playful investigation, all while strengthening important school readiness skills such as following directions, communication, cooperation, and critical thinking.
This workshop encourages families to learn together, helping children build confidence, curiosity, and a growing interest in STEM in a joyful, supportive environment. Activities are designed to be developmentally appropriate for children ages 3–5 and easy to continue at home.
This workshop is hosted at Henderson Christian Academy in partnership with the University of Nevada, Reno Extension – Children, Youth & Families.
