Chit chat over coffee with other parents and caretakers of babies and toddlers in a laid back setting along the gorgeous LA River Bike path. Families of all kinds of welcome to come hang out and enjoy watching our babies interact, observe and play. Dads, grandparents, non bio parents, queer parents, nannies, family members...this is a group for all of us who care or have cared for little ones aged 0-3. This experience is beautiful and tough. Doing it together will make all the difference!

***We love our fur babies too but please do not bring them to this group.***

Location Deets:

Enjoy some light, grounding vibes at the most beautiful location along the LA Bike Path called Happier Cafe LA on google. This space has...

-plenty of shade & misters for hot days

-amazing coffee and cafe treats

-drawing supplies, toy cars, sand pit (lots of space not to be near sand pit)

-plenty of seating & space to stretch out

-huge retro picture backdrop & a fun camper to hang out in

-immaculate, friendly, peaceful vibes

Nearby Ammenities:

Lewis Macadams Riverfront Park- plenty of green space, walking trail, wheelchair and stroller accessible restrooms and water station, picnic tables in the shade and workout equipement.

Bike Path- Pedestrian friendly walkway for easy access to the front of Happier Cafe LA by TADAA.coffee. Just be mindful of the bikes flying by, keep center roadway totally clear.

Parking and Restrooms:

Free parking lot at LEWIS MACADAMS RIVERFRONT PARK. This is where the restrooms are too. Pass the pillar courtyard and the open black gates, turn right to find the front of the cafe.

If the lot is full, street parking is available and plentiful. Heads up to avoid spots that will have street sweeping Thursday morning.

For wheelchair accessible routes, please use Google Maps App, set the starting point to 'your location' once parked/dropped off and enter "Happier Cafe" for 'choose destination'. Press the three dots at the top and the click 'options'. Toggle the 'wheelchair accessible' tab to "ON". This should help give the most clear passageway to the spot.

**Also Highly Recommended to use Google Maps 'Walk' setting for easy guidance to the spot if mobility isnt an factor. Still super helpful**

What to Bring (everything optional):

-Water and snacks

-$ for coffee and treats

-Any hand me downs you wish to share

-related toys or attire for the weekly theme

Group Guidelines:

-Respect & consent are #1. We share stories but avoid unsolicted advice or put downs. No hate or discrimination.

-Parents model healthy interactions including helping little ones keep hands, mouths and feet to themselves and speak kindly.

-Parents are hands-on and engaged. Never leaving their baby unattended or attended by another parent without explicit communication.

-Ask permission to share foods between babies or to touch another child even to help.

-Please, no pet dogs or children over the age of three years old.

-No promotions unless approved by group leaders in advance. We would love to collaborate with you and give you time to spotlight your business.

-If you or your baby are experiencing symptoms of illness like coughing, sneezing, fever or have been recently diagnosed or exposed to covid, join us after symptoms are gone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring my dog

No. Dogs are not welcome to this group for many, many, many reasons I will not get into. If the family dog is already out with you, this group is not the place to stop by anyway.

Can I bring older kids?

This group is intended for newborns to age 3. If you have an older child with you who has zero issues being calm around babies, they are more than welcome to tag along, reserving the energetic space & supplies for the babies. No shooting toys, water beads, swords…etc.

Can I bring my adult family or friends?

Yes! Bring the family and friends that are part of your community! Please observe the rules around kids 4 & older- they are welcome if they can be safe & calm around babies. If they are struggling to do so, please remove them from the group before it escalates.

Where is parking ?

Please park at Lewis Macadams Riverfront Park. If that’s full, street parking is available but note the street sweeping signs.

My child has symptoms, can I still come?

Babies or adults with symptoms like coughing, sneezing, sore throat, fever, are NOT welcome to come to group that week and are encouraged to come back when symptoms are gone.

What if the weather is rainy?

Our meetings depend on Happier Cafe being open. It closes when weather is too rainy/wet since it is an all outdoor space. In that case we will postpone our meeting until the next week if weather permits. Please find updates on our IGs: theclearcorner and @tadaa.coffee for day of announcements.
