Join the Opening Party to celebrate "Pareidolia and Anthropomorphism," an art doll exhibit featuring UK-based artist LittleSwimminMachine (Francesca Loi).
This artshow was originally inspired by the artist's fascination with the concept of Pareidolia: the human tendency to perceive faces in nature's random patterns (even when none actually exist). Such a fascination led her to an exploration of the anthropomorphic - the attribution of human form and character to non-human entities - with the ultimate goal of blurring the boundary between reality and imagination.
Loi has once again chosen to work with multiple materials, blending diverse textures, styles, and human features as a means of merging the "typical" with the strange. In doing this, she hopes to have conjured up stirrings of unease.
The show debuts on November 8 and runs through November 29 at the Imperfecta Gallery.
Join us on November 8 for the opening reception between 5 and 7pm - we will have nibbles, wine and music!
Gallery Hours are: Wednesday to Saturday 11am - 5pm.
