By SCRAP

Overview

Learn the art of square-based garment construction by creating a 6-square top, through an innovative paper-modeling patternmaking technique.

Workshop Description

Learn the art of square-based garment construction by creating a 6-square top! This hands-on workshop will guide you through the innovative paper modeling technique—a risk-free way to understand garment construction before cutting into precious fabric.
Using paper scraps, you'll cut, fold, and tape your way to understanding how simple squares transform into wearable garments. We'll start by creating a paper model to visualize how the pieces fit together, then apply these techniques to square-cut fabric panels for a finished top you can take home.
All skill levels welcome! Beginners can create a simple 5-square top, while the main workshop focuses on the 6-square construction. Experienced sewists looking for an extra challenge can tackle the 7-square wrap top with its hidden pocket feature.

Mira will be hosting for the first 3 hours of the class, we'll keep the workshop open for the last hour to continue working on projects!

Please note we have a sliding scale for tickets for this event! The break down is as follows:
