* Historic RittenhouseTown is located in the Historic Northwest section of Philadelphia, about 8 miles (approximately 20 minutes by car) from City Hall.

Access Features:

All are welcome, and no experience is needed.

The area is shaded and offers plenty of benches for resting throughout the program. The site includes a mix of sloped sidewalk pathways, level gravel paths, and grassy areas that may be more difficult to traverse using mobility devices. The site is located near a traffic intersection and active trailhead, so there is ambient noise. A restroom is available during the second half of program, at the paper studio.

We invite you to share any access needs in advance so we can make your experience as smooth as possible.

What to Wear:

The papermaking process is wet and pulpy, so please wear clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting splashed. You may want to leave rings, watches, bracelets at home. Please wear shoes appropriate to earthen terrain.

The official address of the site is 208 Lincoln Drive Philadelphia PA 19144. However, the entrance is located at 6034 Wissahickon Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144. If using GPS, we recommend entering this address and parking in the lot between 208 and 209 Lincoln Drive. Public Transportation:

Rittenhousetown is accessible via SEPTA Bus Route 65 by exiting at the stop at Wissahickon Avenue and Walnut Lane, or via the SEPTA Chestnut Hill West Regional Rail Line by exiting at Tulpehocken Station. Weather Plan:
