✂️🎨 Paper Architecture - A playful practice of perseverance for children ages 3-6
Join us for a hands-on workshop that blends early sculpture making with meaningful emotional learning! In this session, children ages 3 to 6 will dive into 3D paper sculptures - rolling, folding, cutting, and gluing their way through colorful creations. These activities support fine motor development, focus, and coordination, and will be offered at a variety of skill levels to meet each child's needs.
We’ll begin with a short circle time with a read aloud of Whistle for Willie by Ezra Jack Keats, a gentle story about perseverance and trying again even when things are tricky. Through storytelling, open-ended process art, and sculptural exploration, we’ll help children build resilience, patience, and pride in their process—not just the finished product. As always, we will also have sensory play and literary options for those needing a break or alternate activity!
As they experiment with paper forms and balance their own tiny sculptures, children will also:
✂️ Practice scissor skills, gluing, and folding
👐 Build hand strength and fine motor coordination
🌈 Learn to manage frustration through open-ended art
💡 Problem-solve and experiment with structure and shape
💬 Connect language, story, and art through shared creative time
☕ Grown-Up Time:
Caregivers are warmly invited to stay, sip some coffee or tea, and connect with other parents in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
👥 Bringing more than one child? With the purchase of a full-priced ticket, enjoy 10€ off up to 2 sibling tickets each. Just select ‘Sibling Admission’ along with your ‘General Admission’ ticket when booking.
Looking forward to growing with you!
Further information: We will provide all craft and sensory materials as well as a caring and nurturing environment for safe and supported learning. We suggest you feed your child a small snack before the session, but will have some dry goods (rice crackers, raisins) on site just in case. We will also be providing coffee and tea for caregivers to enjoy while their children learn. We ask parents stay on site in case their child is struggling to join or having big feelings, but otherwise we invite adults in attendance to sit back, relax, and meet other parents. There is a toilet available for patrons but no changing table.
