Panel Talk: New York’s ICE Raids
Overview
The ICE arrests of immigrants at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan have dominated news in the city, as families are separated by masked agents in the courtroom hallways, in full view of the press. Recently, federal agents expanded their reach with a raid targeting Canal Street vendors that was met with a spontaneous protest from New York residents—all witnessed by photojournalists who have been steadfastly documenting the ongoing crackdown.
Join four of those photographers—Carol Guzy, Victor J. Blue, David “Dee” Delgado, and Madison Swart—at the BDC as they share their work and discuss the role of photojournalism in documenting this unprecedented moment in the nation’s history.
