Over the past year, the international system has been characterized by conflict, strife, and rising tensions. As the global landscape shifts toward increased competition and rivalry among states, and as authoritarian leaders and parties gain popularity and assume power, the significance of attraction in international affairs may be diminishing.
This online webinar, the inaugural event hosted by the Journal of Place Branding and Public Diplomacy, aims to examine the evolving role of attraction in a world increasingly susceptible to coercion.
Our expert panel will explore several critical themes, including:
- Has the age of soft power come to an end?
- What is the relevance of attraction in an era dominated by hard power?
- How can nations and places cultivate a positive image in a climate marked by coercion?
- In what ways do digital technologies fuel competition among states
- Can digital policymaking invigorate international diplomacy?
The event will consist of a 45-minute panel discussion followed by a Q&A session with the audience. We invite you to join us for this engaging conversation.
